In 2007, the iPhone and Amazon's Kindle were introduced (each priced at $399); Skybus launched and boasted one-way flights starting at just $10; the UK banned smoking in public places, and the Boston Red Sox won the world series. It was also the year Versasec made its debut.
Ten years later, we're celebrating our anniversary, with an all-company meeting in Berlin. During our time in business, we've grown to become the leader in smart card and virtual smart card management systems. We've also significantly grown our customer base, employee roster, our global presence, and our partnerships.
Versasec began in Stockholm in 2007 as Versatile Security Sweden AB in 2007. The company's first product was vSEC:CMS, which launched in 2009 as a free tool that enabled basic smart card administration functions. Today, we have offices around the world, including two in the United States, Germany, Dubai, The United Kingdom and France. Later this year, we'll launch our latest office in Singapore. And vSEC:CMS has hundreds of thousands of users and installed all around the world.
Our products are widely adopted in industries such as government entities, healthcare, finance, energy, automotive, aerospace and defense, IT services and hardware, retail, telecommunications, media, legal and others. We work with a variety of partners, too, including recent additions cryptovision, SoftShell, and CRC3d, as well as longer-term partners such as Gemalto, Yubico, PrimeKey, Cogito Group, DigiCert, ZiggTV, IDpendant, Logosoft, IDK Sistemas, RECRO-NET, 3SR, CINOVASI and others.
During the last decade, our internal team has grown in pace with demands for our products and services, and by year's end we will have added an additional 7 fulltime employees to the roster.
Our growth in employees, customers and sales, as well as our broadening recognition as a leading resource for cybersecurity solutions, is attributable to our strong leadership, our well-trained and knowledgeable reseller partners around the world, in-depth knowledge and acceptance of the public key infrastructure (PKI) market, and a robust market for identity and access management solutions.
