Sales Engineer

Location and Hours

The work will mainly be performed at the Versasec Sales Office in Dubai, UAE but will involve regular travels. The office hours are normally 8:30AM-5:30PM with a lunch break of 1 hour. On average, the work week is 40 hours (excluding breaks). The weekly working hours are adjusted to the operational needs of Versasec. The office is open on weekdays (from Sunday to Thursday) and closed on weekends and on official UAE bank holidays.

Job Purpose Summary

Versasec is an Identity and Access Management (IAM) provider that helps businesses manage their access- enabling devices, including smart cards, mobile devices, tablets and PCs, virtual devices and RFID/NFC. The Versasec team is an agile and fast growing group of professionals, and this is especially true for the sales team that currently services the worldwide customer base with staff of less than 10 persons.

The main purpose of the position is to extend the capacity of the Sales & Business Development department and thereby improve the sales operational efficiency in Middle East, Africa and Asia.

Key Responsibilities

  • Searching for new clients and partners (Distributors & Resellers) who could benefit from Versasec products in Middle East, Africa & Asia

  • Travelling to visit potential clients & partners

  • Establishing new, and maintaining existing, relationships with customers & partners

  • Managing and interpreting customer requirements

  • Persuading clients that a product or service will best satisfy their needs

  • Calculating client quotations

  • Negotiating tender and contract terms

  • Negotiating and closing sales by agreeing terms and conditions

  • Offering after-sales support services

  • Administering client accounts

  • Analyzing costs and sales

  • Preparing reports for management

  • Meeting regular sales targets

  • Recording and maintaining client contact data

  • Co-coordinating sales projects

  • Supporting marketing by attending trade shows, conferences and other marketing events

  • Making technical presentations and demonstrating how a product will meet client needs

  • Providing pre-sales technical assistance and product education

  • Liaising with other members of the sales team and other technical experts

  • Solving client problems

  • Helping in the design of custom-made products

  • Providing training and producing support material for the sales team


    University degree, preferably in Computer Science

  • Solid technical background in IT Security (Ideally specialized in Identity & Access Management)

  • Sound judgement and good business sense

  • Ability to work under no or minimal supervision

  • Ability to develop and make presentations for existing and prospective customers & partners, in a professional manner

  • Deep technical knowledge of products offered by the company

  • Effective communication and writing skills

  • Ability to work under pressure

  • Ability to communicate/negotiate with clients/customers

  • Driver license
