Versasec Announces vSEC:CMS S-Series v5.1
At the RSA Conference 2018, we launched vSEC:CMS S-Series Version 5.1. This latest upgrade to our identity and access management (IAM) solution has a strong focus on Virtual Smart Cards, TPM management, and Remote Security Device Management (RSDM) functionality, making it increasingly relevant in the Internet of Things (IOT) space.
For our customers in Europe and for those working with companies in the European Union, it's important to note that version 5.1 makes it even easier for them to understand and manage who is accessing their data.
We've added 14 important new features and a variety of fixes into the latest version of our flagship product, including a new operator dashboard view that provides an overview of the current status of clients managed within vSEC:CMS.
For more details and a complete list of the features, check out our press release about the announcement in our online press room: https://versasec.com/pressroom.php.
Existing users and other interested parties interesting in downloading an evaluation copy of vSEC:CMS S-Series Version 5.1 should visit the Versasec web site.

Carolina Martinez Joins Versasec as Director of US Operations
Carolina Martinez, a long-time executive at Versasec partner Gemalto, is joining our team as Director of U.S. Operations and we couldn't be happier. As part of our team, Carolina is responsible for one of our most important markets and her work includes establishing new customer relationships, overseeing customer interactions and ensuring customer satisfaction across the Americas.
Everything You Wanted to Know About Just in Time Virtual Smart Cards
Just in Time (JIT) Virtual Smart Cards are becoming increasingly in demand as organizations take advantage of the Trusted Platform Module (TPM), which provides access control for secure authentication. Virtual Smart Cards emulate physical smart cards and their capabilities but do not need any of the physical hardware, including physical card readers and smart cards, to effectively manage and authenticate user identities.
Versasec VP of Sales William Hourly discussed the benefits of Just in Time Virtual Smart Cards at the Risk 2018 conference earlier this year, and we captured his presentation in its entirety. Will pointed out the many benefits of JIT virtual smart cards, including its ease-of-use, strong two-factor authentication (2FA) and management for mobile workers, full security lifecycle management and overall cost-effectiveness.
Largest Swiss Insurance Company Mobiliar Chooses Versasec for Identity and Access Management Solutions
Faced with the challenge of updating its aging computer equipment and maintaining two-factor authentication (2FA) throughout its 4,900+ organization, Mobiliar turned to Versasec.
Mobiliar's new Lenovo X1 Yoga laptops, provided to employees throughout the company, offered better processing power, but lacked the integrated physical smart cards reader Mobiliar used for two-factor authentication in older equipment. Challenged with equipment and users spread across 200+ office sites, Mobiliar not only needed 2FA solutions, but a way to manage these solutions remotely.
Certgate and Versasec Secure Mobile Devices
Versasec partner certgate is one of the leading IT security providers in the mobile communications industry. The companies are working together to protect organizations' mobile and computer devices against hackers, data leakage and especially unauthorized access. Any Bluetooth-enabled device, including desktops, laptops, etc., is easily read by cergate's combination card reader and visual badge holder, AirID.
By combining certgate's AirID and Versasec's vSEC:CMS identity and access management (IAM) solution, organizations manage the full lifecycle of the AirID, from issuance of the wireless card reader ready for use, maintenance of the AirID, and revocation after the user does not need the smart card reader any more.
