Inspiring Ideas Sometimes Require a Raft!

When the COVID-19 pandemic hit, companies and teams in virtually all industries and regions were forced to rethink and apply new work models to secure their staff and work performance. While many companies suddenly found themselves challenged by establishing work-from-home arrangements, remote collaboration, and video conferencing, at Versasec the transition went very smoothly because we’d been working with remote teams for more than a decade.

Pre-pandemic, and in the 18 months since, all staff at our eight worldwide offices have been collaborating and exchanging ideas by using digital means. Even social interactions and team events work perfectly through digital channels, whether it’s a digital coffee break, a team game or even a wine tasting.

Now, as the COVID restrictions mellow out for European nations, most workers are happy to spend some time with coworkers in the flesh.

Still, sometimes an office is not enough. Just as in pre-pandemic days, fresh ideas sometimes require new perspectives. And inspiring guests. And a raft. Good food and drinks, of course. And amazing weather!

That’s why part of our R&D team recently found themselves, floating down the Saale river in historic Halle , Germany, where they spent four hours discussing, exchanging, making decisions, and starting something new. Despite the leisurely appeal of a river raft trip, the team made great progress planning the vSEC:CMS roadmap, and had fun doing it!
