From the Air Force to Cybersecurity

James’s journey began in the Air Force, where he seamlessly transitioned from electronics to networking and system administration. With over a decade of military service, James has navigated diverse landscapes, from Anchorage, Alaska, to Hill AFB, Utah, and Laughlin AFB, Texas. With deployments to Riyadh AB, Saudi Arabia, for Operation Southern Watch and another to Incirlik AB, Turkey, for Operation Northern Watch, these years highlight a decade of dedication, diverse experiences, and global contributions in service to our country.

Reflecting on his time in the Air Force, he fondly reminisces about encountering talented individuals who imparted invaluable lessons on teamwork and leadership. Another key skill he acquired from the Air Force was a strong attention to detail, which translated to a robust troubleshooting proficiency.

James’s early exposure to troubleshooting electronic circuits laid the groundwork for his future expertise in software.

A Family Man with a Texas Heart

Beyond the tech world, James enjoys quality time with his family, two active teenagers, including a roller derby enthusiast and a video game champion. Living in the live music capital of the world, Austin, TX, James and his family savor the vibrant cultural scene and the delicious local cuisine.

Having lived in various places around the U.S., James considers Austin his ideal city. Born in Texas, he proudly carries that Texas Pride, making his return to the Lone Star State feel like coming home.
